I wanted to share a simulated data run, indicating some of the practical uses of Pellucid data. In our public database, I have created a table called WYdata_application_example20111207 which has been added with the intent of illustrating a friendly display of some of our data. In the table, we can see all the hospitals for Wyoming, some identifying and attribute data, as well as the values for measures from different data sources. These measures include: `Overall Recommended Care` (source: IPRO calculated on CMS data), `Percent of Patients Highly Satisfied` (source: CMS quarterly update), `Comprehensive Readmissions Rate` (source: IPRO calculated from CMS data), and `Foreign Object Retained After Surgery` (source: HAC report). This table provides an example of how various data sources can be brought together to provide a useful, one-stop report on the performance of select hospitals within a region. This report can be expanded to include more hospitals, more measures, or more attributes, which further illustrates the inherent flexibility and versatility of pellucid formatting.
The table and its layout illustrate how our data can be reformatted to serve various purposes in research and reporting.
